Just had word from the boats that Paul Downie and Andrew Hunt completed their English Channel swims successfully! Paul in 12:39 and Andrew in 13:54. Andrew said “Conditions were sloppy in the first hour but then settled down nicely. It was a bit tough mentally missing the cape but now I feel on top of the world!”

Awesome work guys! Just one picture through from Shelley so far (see below), we’ll hopefully have some more and their full stories v.soon!

About Us!

Channel Dare is a group of intrepid swimmers from Perth, Western Australia each training for the 40km English Channel swim in 2011. Raising money for Breast Cancer Care WA, each will undertake their solo swim in windows through July, August and September 2011.

Quick fact: Did you know, more people have climbed Everest than swum the English Channel? It's that tough! Strong currents, cold water, large waves and swell, the extreme distance and quite a bit of water-born 'pollution' make for an extremely tough challenge which only very strong swimmers are able to undertake.
